As much as I can’t wait for our garden to yield fruits that I can cook with, it is still April 7th, and still too early to be thinking about that. Soooooo instead….I made this delightful little pre-garden cake with my sister over spring break. It was actually our dad’s birthday cake, and since he likes to garden and also doesn’t mind having an adorable birthday cake, we went ahead and did our thing.
It’s just a normal lightning cake with butter cream frosting (the recipes for which are featured in my “Spur of the Moment Cake” post).
Decorating was the most fun part, the cake was made in a Giant Cupcake silicone mold that my mom had.
